| Results from Ultimate Wrestlings "Torn to Shreds" on July 18 IP: 74.178.167.55 Posted on 7/21/2009 at 07:20:46 PM by B.M. Woodson Ultimate Wrestling made its triumphant return to the American Legion Post #33 in Pensacola on July 18th with “Torn to Shreds.” Fans packed the Legion with an electric enthusiasm that is unsurpassed by any other on the Gulf Coast. RESULTS Jet Angel def. “Party Gras” Justin Stone, “Pure” Doug Pitt, “Story of the Year” Brian Caige, and UW Cruiserweight Champion “The Bruiserweight” Maze in a 5-man non-title scramble match Jet Angel made his Ultimate Wrestling debut in a special five man scramble match, and scored a high flying and very impressive victory over four other established Ultimate Superstars. From the start of the match, the fans knew they were in for a spectacle as Brian Caige, Doug Pitt, and Angel all sacrificed their bodies in an attempt to eliminate the competition. Prior to the match, Caige had grabbed the microphone to remind everyone how he had never been pinned or submitted in his career. This gave motivation to the other Superstars in the match, as all four tried to score a quick pinfall on Caige in succession, but the attempts unfortunately proved fruitless. While a mêlée ensued between the “Story of the Year” and Pitt outside the ring, Jet Angel was able to take advantage by hitting his flying DDT on Stone to pick up the pinfall. Angel’s impressive debut led to a decision later in the evening by Ultimate Wrestling management to make him the #1 contender for the Cruiserweight Championship. Jet will face the champion Maze on August 1st at “Aftermath.” Following the match, Brian Caige once again found a microphone in his hand, spouting off that he had still not been pinned, making him a winner. Doug Pitt had apparently heard enough, as he came out to confront Caige. The “Story of the Year” promptly insulted Doug, saying that while he had been un-pinned in his career, Pitt had been on a rather lengthy losing streak. After a slap to the face by Caige, Doug finally snapped and took Brian out with a belly-to-belly suplex, causing the “Story of the Year” to flee. Pitt grabbed the mic and challenged Caige to a match at “Aftermath,” saying that “you may be pinned, but I’m #### sure you’re going to submit!” No word as to whether this challenge has been accepted by Caige, or if Ultimate Wrestling management will sign the match regardless of acceptance. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Turbo Ted def. The Black Wolf via submission Turbo Ted was looking forward to his rematch with “The Archangel” Michael Thrash at “Torn to Shreds.” It was not to be, however, as Thrash was forced to undergo emergency surgery that will sideline him for 8 weeks. Instead, a highly frustrated Ted was allowed to take out his aggression on The Black Wolf. After a few minutes spent toying with the youngster, Ted made Black Wolf tap out with a Figure-Four Leglock. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "The Feature” Carlos D’Angelo def. “Mr. USA” T.A. Jones to retain UW X-Factor Championship Carlos D’Angelo brought out his opponent for the evening, T.A. Jones, as his guest for “The Feature Presentation.” Carlos told “The Airman” that he had been paying attention to what Jones has been doing over the past few months. Although the two had been scheduled for a non-title match, “The Feature” told Jones that he didn’t want to wrestle to just wrestle, but that he wanted it to mean something. Instead, he wanted to square off and defend the X-Factor Championship. Jones graciously accepted, and the match began. Both superstars showcased their tremendous wrestling abilities, with neither able to gain a true advantage throughout the match. With near-fall after near-fall the fans were on the edge of their seats throughout the match. Eventually, Carlos was able to hit his finishing move, the STO, and pin Jones. However, T.A. was able to get his foot on the bottom rope, but the referee did not see this and counted to 3. “The Feature,” realizing what had happened, demanded the match be restarted. It looked like this act of sportsmanship would haunt him, as Jones landed blow after blow. With Carlos’ back to the wall, he was able to hit the STO once again, and this time there was nothing stopping the pinfall. D’Angelo showed the amount of respect he had for Jones, who had once again taken his opponent to the very limit. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "Chocolate Boy Wonder” Marcus Gibbs def. Michael Patrick to become #1 Contender for UW X-Factor Championship Due to injuries, Ultimate Wrestling management decided to make the match between Marcus Gibbs and Michael Patrick for the #1 Contendership for the X-Factor Championship. Patrick, who lost to X-Factor Champ Carlos D’Angelo in May, felt like the victory would come naturally. It was not to be for Patrick, however, as Gibbs was able to hit his “Bareback” to pick up the win and become #1 Contender. Carlos, who was watching the match from ringside, went to congratulate “CBW,” and say that he was looking forward to their match on August 22nd. Marcus responded by shockingly hitting the “Bareback” on Carlos, and promptly ranting about his hate for the fans of Ultimate. “The era of Chocolate is dead!” Marcus exclaimed. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "Blacksheep” Bobby Doll def. Aeon Flexx After the altercation that stemmed from Bobby Doll’s assault on Ultimate Wrestling GM Diana Drake-Hearse, CEO Alexander Hearse III set up a match between Aeon Flexx and Doll. The hated rivals brawled both in the ring and out in yet another instant classic at the American Legion. Just when it seemed that Flexx was going to put Bobby away for good, Doll was able to land a piledriver to pick up the victory. A defeated Aeon grabbed the microphone, and said to Bobby Doll that in his eyes, they were all even. Flexx then proposed that on August 1st the two square off one more time to break the tie. Management has confirmed that this match will take place at the American Legion on August 1st at “Aftermath.” ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- “The Former Sinner” Nick Virtue def. “The Master of Devastation” Cameron Frost to retain UW Heavyweight Championship Nick Virtue decided to try and reason with what he called his “longtime friend” in Cameron Frost. Virtue told “The Master of Devastation” that since he is putting the coveted Ultimate Wrestling Championship on the line, Frost should watch out for Virtue’s injured knee. Frost took exception to this comment from the champion, and decided to instead attack the injured knee of Virtue. Obviously in extreme pain, “The Former Sinner” struggled to stay on his feet throughout the match, seemingly handing the title over to Frost. The match, and Virtue’s title reign, seemed near the end when Frost shot Nick off the ropes, and Virtue crumbled under the weight of himself from his injured knee. As Frost approached Virtue to finish him off, “The Former Sinner” rolled up Frost for the pinfall, retaining his championship. Cameron, as well as the fans, was stunned to see Virtue leaving the ring without even a limp. Frost has demanded that a rematch take place on August 22nd at the Santa Rosa County Auditorium. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- “Brutal” Joe Gibson and Deathrow fought to a double-disqualification In one of the most anticipated matchups in recent history, neither Joe Gibson nor Deathrow could control themselves enough to secure a victory, as both were disqualified for using closed fists. The two behemoths took their vicious brawl all around the ring, and eventually the entire locker room emptied to try and contain the fight. As every security guard and superstar tried to hold back Joe outside the ring, just a lone, ####y Brian Caige, who picked up a DQ victory over Deathrow previously, was in the ring attempting to hold back Deathrow. ‘Row was evidently annoyed by the “Story of the Year,” and launched him into the sea of superstars at ringside, freeing Joe to continue the brawl. When the fight was finally subdued, Joe screamed to Deathrow that wherever Ultimate has a show with Deathrow on the card, Joe will be there to chop him down. Neither the “Brutal One” nor “The Man” would back down, and the powers that be at Ultimate fear for the worst at “Aftermath.” ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ultimate Wrestling presents: “Aftermath” LIVE Saturday August 1st at the American Legion Post #33 in Pensacola, FL at 7pm.
